01Curriculum
Six core subjects. One connected Prep School curriculum.
Years 4–8 bridge the important years between primary and secondary education. Our curriculum combines strong academic foundations with interdisciplinary learning, digital fluency and the practical skills pupils need to become confident, independent learners.
Mathematics
Building fluency and confidence across number, calculation, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, geometry, measurement, statistics and increasingly sophisticated problem solving.
Combined Science
Biology, chemistry and physics taught through one connected Science programme. Pupils develop scientific knowledge alongside investigation, enquiry, analysis and evidence-based thinking.
Integrated Curriculum & Life Skills
A distinctive interdisciplinary subject combining History, Geography, Social Studies and Entrepreneurship.
Pupils explore people, places, societies, cultures and significant issues while developing the personal and practical skills needed for life beyond the classroom.
Learning develops research, critical thinking, communication, financial awareness, teamwork, leadership, problem solving and entrepreneurship — helping pupils understand the world and their place within it.
AI & Digital Literacy
Preparing pupils to use technology and artificial intelligence confidently, creatively, critically and responsibly.
Pupils develop practical digital skills alongside an age-appropriate understanding of AI: how to use digital and AI tools effectively, evaluate information and outputs, recognise limitations and bias, protect their privacy, stay safe online and understand the importance of responsible and ethical use.
The emphasis moves beyond simply using technology towards becoming informed, capable and responsible digital learners.
PSHE & Personal Development
PSHE is embedded across the Prep School experience rather than taught only as a standalone subject.
It is delivered through regular 1:1 tutorials with each pupil's personal mentor, assemblies, and themes infused across the wider curriculum.
This approach allows pupils to explore wellbeing, relationships, personal responsibility, decision-making, resilience, online safety, citizenship and preparation for adolescence in ways that are relevant to their age and individual circumstances.
The personal mentor plays a central role, providing each pupil with a trusted adult who knows them well, monitors their development and supports both their academic progress and personal wellbeing.
Electives
Alongside the six core subjects, pupils can broaden their programme through electives, including Modern Foreign Languages and other enrichment options; please consult our leadership team for details.
Electives allow pupils to pursue individual interests, develop additional skills and begin making choices about the areas they would like to explore further.
